I really want a Porche Boxster and although I know we can't afford one, it doesn't make me want it any less, and it doesn't stop me from kidding my hubby about getting me one and how cute I would look in one. He told me I was cute in my Suburban. I told him I'd be even cutter in a Boxster. He told me I couldn't get any cutter. Ah, how sweet. Whatever...:) I still want a Porche Boxster.

Looking to be a great summer...
Looking ahead, I think this summer is going to be GREAT!!! And it will be starting in May, before my birthday.
On May 11, Gary Allen is performing at the Grand Sierra Resort. Jason wants to go. Then my b-day is the 19th, which also happens to be the day Wild Island is slated to open. May 20, Brad Paisley is performing at Downtown Events Center, which Jason is going to work security, so I'll get in free, and there could be a chance to get back stage if he's lead supervisor.
Kylie will graduate from Kindergarden on June 6, so I'll have that day off work and we'll end up at the water park of course. A little strange knowing this is my last Kindergarden graduation...sad yet happy.
On June 14, we will load up the 'burban and head out to Vegas for the Police concert on the 15th. SO looking forward to that. Same weekend as that, the Reno Rodeo starts, and we just love that. Try to go at least once.
I'm taking the week of July 4th off to spend at Wild Island. We go back and watch the fireworks from the top of the slides. We can see the entire valley and all the fireworks, legal and illegal.
Hot August nights starts August 3. I love seeing all the old cars around town, and last year Rhett started a new tradition for us, actually going to the Grand Sierra and walking around to check all the cars out.
Rib Cook off-always a must attend event here, starts August 30. The following weekend is the Balloon Races, then the 3rd weekend is the Air Races, followed by Street Vibrations. We plan on seeing or going to all events some way or another.
Anthony will be starting high school, Rhett will be moving into 3rd grade, and Kylie will be in school ALL DAY in 1st grade.
I'm looking forward to the coming months.
Oh, and on a happy note...my brother and sister in law are having a baby girl in September. I'm very happy for them mainly because since Jared was about 13 or 14, he said he was never going to have girls. He said he'd give any girl he got up for adoption. He has changed his tune now, but he's still bummed. And this makes the 5th girl, and Jason in the only one to have boys in the family. Tami has her two girls and is not having any more, Jaclyn has no prospects of having children at this time, and I think Jared and Lyndy will only have 1 more after this one...anyways, always great to have a new little one born into our family.

Better day
Yesterday it snowed. The morning commute was awful. I had the Burban in 4WD, in 1st gear, and was doing about 5 mph, and was still going down McCarran Blvd. by Rancho San Rafael park, sideways, next to a school bus who was moving, but the wheels weren't, with a jerk tailgating behind me. I took me 30 minutes to get to work when normally it takes about 8.
Today the roads are dry, but it is still cold. Luckily it is supposed to warm up for the weekend...
Yesterday I was complaining (again) how much I hate winter when Mr. Smart Alec, Anthony, reminded me it wasn't winter anymore. So I had to change my complaint to hating winter storms in the spring...
85 MORE DAYS TO SUMMER!!!!!

Weekend report
Friday I had to work late for our monthly inventory here at work. I had to stay here until after 5. As luck would have it, because it was inventory, our whole computer system went down. I was not able to post my monies for a while, and those doing the counts, couldn't enter their counts. We did a lot of hurrying up and waiting. I had to go to two of our customers and collect money, so that helped kill a little time. But the sytstem finally fixed it's self, and all was well. However, because of working late, Rhett didn't make baseball practice. Oh well.
Saturday Rhett had "Cap Day" for picking up his uniform. It's a big deal for the entire league. It was fun. The kids were so excited abou their uniforms and hats. We also ordered Rhett and Jason a hooded sweatshirt each to wear on those typically cold windy days at the games. We got the schedule, and the first game will be this Saturday at 1:00. His team got a bad practice schedule on Friday and Saturday, so I guess they gave them the good game schedule. They play Mondays, Wednesday's and Saturdays. We have no late games on M & W (7pm) and the only day I'm not super excited about is a 3pm game on May 19, which happens to be Wild Island opening day (we'll have to leave early) and it's my 25th(ish) birthday. But hey, I can handle it.
The kids spent the night with Jason's dad and we went out to dinner and dancing with friends. We ate at Macaroni Grille. Yummmm. We went and played a couple games of pool. I am so bad at that game, but Jason forced me to play...whatever. Then we went to a dance club and just had so much fun. Stayed out a little too late, though, and I'm still tired today.
Yesterday Anthony went and interviewed for a job at Wild Island. We should hear if he gets the job in about 3 weeks. I'm sure he'll get it. He was the only kid dressed nice, and the guy that would be his boss and did his interview already knows him, and everyone out there already loves Jason and figure his kid should be as good as he is. Let's hope.
Jason and I went to Dairy Queen last night and had ice cream. It was yummy, and now I'm craving another one.
Sienna is home. She is acting very good. We're not sure if it's because her allergies are so bad, or because she has finally grown up. Everyone says Labs don't mature until they are 3, which we do know to be true based on the other 3 we've owned, but Sienna has been the worse puppy ever. But I can say she has turned into a very good dog, and I love her. Just not as much as I love Kirby.
We are going to have a BB-Q here at work today for lunch, and wouldn't you know it, it's windy and starting to get cold. Big spring storm is supposed to moving in tonight, with a 70% chance of snow tomorrow...at least the weather was GREAT over the weekend, and they say it'll be great again this coming weekend. I can deal with storms during the week since I'm at work anyways, as long as my weekends are nice.

Bribery works so well...
Rhett not only woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, I think he woke up on the wrong side of the country. He was so grouchy. I asked him is he needed some feminine protection. Then it occurred to me, I could hold going to the Police concert against him. It made him mad when I said I wouldn't take him to see the Police if he kept acting this way, he told me he hated me, so I told him I'd take Anthony in his place and wouldn't even take him to Vegas with the family. Amazing how his mood changed. The boy loves the Police and is SO excited to go to the concert and Vegas. So at least for the next three months I have this leverage to use on the boy.

I knew it was too good...
to be true. The weather has started to turn cooler, and there is rain in the forcast. At least it was beautiful last week for the kids spring break.
I'm sad UNR lost yesterday, and their season is over. But, hey, they had a great season, and we are all proud of them around these parts.
There was a small brush fire not very far from our house on Saturday, that ended up being fanned by the wind, and 1 home was destroyed, and like 7 were damaged. It was sad to see. I had to take Rhett to baseball practice in the thick of it and passed right by it.
The ABS warning light is fixed. The cable running from the brakes to the sensor had worn out, and just happened to be at the same time as getting the brakes fixed, but totally unrelated.
One of my dearest friends was in town from Salt Lake this weekend. She stopped by on Saturday night, and came to church on Sunday with her granddaughter. She used to live in my ward, but when her husband retired 3 years ago, they moved to Salt Lake to be closer to his family and she is a major family history nut, and they got an apartment 2 blocks from the Family History center so she could walk. They are in the same ward as President Hinckley and President Faust. They get to see them all the time. Hearing her talk about it was so cool. It's one thing to be in a huge conference with the prophet, but to go to regular everyday Sunday church, that must be so cool.
Kids are back in school today. They were all sad. But I cheered them up a bit by telling them only 2 more months until Wild Island opens, weather permiting of course. They also weren't happy with me because I was rushing them. At 5:30 Jason rolled over and asked what time I was getting up. I was in the middle of a good dream and mummbled the alarm goes off at 5:00, and then realized the time, and flew out of bed to be running behind 1/2 hour. Yuck! But I made it, and my hair doesn't look half bad! All is well.

FRIDAY!!!!!!!
It's Friday, March 16, 2007, 7:33 am. I don't want to be here at work today, and I don't feel like working at all. So for now I'll blog a bit...
Got about 4 hours of sleep last night. Two more hours didn't help. I'm still drugged feeling. And I forgot to take my allergy pill before going to bed last night, so needless to say, my allergies are quite bad this morning.
Looking forward to the UNR basketball game today at noon. GO PACK! Sure hope they win this one. So at least this afternoon I'll have a better excuse to not work. Gotta watch the game. There is a TV up here in the office I share, and my co-worker loves UNR BBall as much as I do.
Rhett has baseball practice tonight, even with it being spring break. I'm sure glad it's warmer this week than it was last week. Maybe I won't freeze quite as much tonight. Man, last week was cold. I ended up sitting in the car for most of the last hour. I try to be supportive, but I find it really hard when I have ice on my fingers, toes, and nose.
Suburban's brakes are fixed, and tires are rotated, but now the ABS warning light on the dashboard won't go out, so it has to go back in on Monday to fix that. Like I said yesterday, it's always something.
I have lost enough weight now, my wedding ring slips around my finger when I type. What a nice thing! Actually, I haven't lost any more weight, still holding at the 12 pounds lost, but I must be loosing inches, because all my clothes are getting too loose. Shopping Time! My manicurist said that her trainer told her loosing 10 pounds is dropping about 1 dress size. Sounds good to me.

Always something...
On Tuesday I noticed my brakes on the Suburban grinding. Yuck! We just put brakes on February 06. Suburbans are notorious for going thru brakes fast, but one year seems a little fast for me. So anyways, it is at the shop today getting them fixed, and a tire rotation. I am driving what Kylie calls the "Heavy Truck". It is a 1-ton, 4 door GMC built in 1984. It is a monster, gets TERRIBLE gas milage, and has a loud engine and even louder glass muffler. It's a total guy truck. I feel so dumb driving it, but it does have great get up and go, and at least we have an extra car for times like this so Jason and I don't have to juggle cars. The really bad thing is the cost of the new brakes on the Suburban I'm not happy about.
Then, last night I just couldn't sleep. My monthly not friend came, and I was totally sick yesterday so I got some serious strength Midol, which made me have to go potty like 3 times during the night. And I was either too hot or too cold to get to sleep. As I lay there not falling asleep, my minds wanders, and I started to think about my mom, and got super depressed, cried, felt like an idiot, and it was just a vicious circle. I wasn't sure why I was so bothered by thoughts of my mom, until about 2:30 I realized it was 2 years ago that she was diagnosed. Then that started the tears all over again. Totally stupid, I know, but I know my body is just a walking case of hormones right now, and there are some other things going on with work and a friend of mine that I worry about more than I should. So, here I am with about 2 hours of sleep, and a contact that is bothering me.
I am so tired, and I feel dizy, and I can't wait to go home and just go to bed. After I pick up the Suburban from the shop...

Lazy Wednesday
I have completed my work for the day, it's only 1:30. The weather is warm and I wish I could go home. But here I sit.
Went to lunch with Jason at Chili's. I ate WAY to much, and now I feel sick...ugh.
Loving the warm weather and sun, knowing full well it won't last. Enjoy it while I can.

Warmth
Reno broke a record yesterday for the high. In 1888 it was 75*. Yesterday we hit 78*. We could do it again today. It is so beautiful outside. I know full well it won't last, but I am so totally enjoying it while it is here.
Yesterday afternoon, I got home from work, changed into a pair of capri's and took Kirby for a 50 minute walk. Still working on loosing another 12 pounds. Then I came home, and my across the street neighbor and I decided to feed the kids and then go down to the school together so the kids could play and we could visit. I sat and swang the whole time we were there (about 30 mins). The kids and I had contests to see how could go higher. I think I won, but it kinda made me sick to my stomach, and then when I went to get off the swing, my legs had turned to jello. Andrea had to help get me out of it. I think I might be getting old. Between my long walk and swinging, I could hardly get out of bed this morning. Exedrine is my best friend today.
Kids are out this week for spring break. It's not even spring yet! Year round schools are not out. UNR and TMCC are not out. It's so stupid. Why can't all the schools (colleges included) be on the same schedule? It would be too easy I guess.
I bought the tickets for Rhett and I to go to the Police concert in Vegas in June yesterday. The kid totally loves the Police. He can name Police songs in about 3 notes when they come on the radio or the satellite. When we found out about the reunion concert, we just knew he had to go. We wanted to take the entire family, but there is a 4 ticket minimum, and they are selling out FAST, and we could only afford the two right now, so Jason and I decided I would take Rhett. Jason's family lives in Vegas, we'll stay with them, and have fun with them for a nice little family weekend get away.
I talked to Kim Brantingham from high school today. She is the eskimo friend from my Freshman year in high school. She's in Vegas now, 2 kids, stay at home mom. Doing good.
Does anyone remember a John Pruitt from high school? He e-mailed Kim as a Daytonite, but neither her or I know who he is. I even looked in my yearbooks and can't find someone by that name...
Other than that, not much going on. Talk to you all later!

WOW!
So, Jason and I have decided to start walking every day, no matter what. The last 2 days we have walked with the doggies 2 or more miles. I can hardly move. I hurt from my chest down, I'd like to die.
On a happy note, it is sunny, and 66* right now!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!! The snow on the valley floor from last Monday's storm is just about gone, and my bulbs are starting to sprout. Only 107 days until summer. And Wild Island's 2007 schedule came out yesterday...it opens on May 19...my birthday...
I know this great weather won't last, but at least I'm happy now...other than not being able to move...

I'm ok
The 4 pills managed to do the job. I think getting my nails done, being away from work for a while, helped too.
I had Friday off from work, and spent the day pampering myself after I got the 3 kids off to school. I took a nice long hot bath, gave myself a facial, a pedicure, watched a movie, and went to the mall. Then I hung out with a friend Friday evening for a few hours with no kids. It was great.
Saturday, went tanning...kids went to Great Grandmas house, so Jason and I went to the grand opening of Pets Mart with Kodi and Kirby, and went to lunch at Chili's. It was nice. Spent the evening watching UNR beat NMSU. Go Pack! #10 in the nation! Go Pack! We love our Wolf Pack basketball!
Sunday was stake conference, and I have to admit, I ditched. We went to the mall instead. We had to exchange a pair of shoes Kylie got for her birthday from Gap Kids that were too big, bought Rhett a new pair of Converses, and Jason bought me a new pair of ear phones for my i-pod. The old ones were starting to wear out, and they just plain hurt my ears a lot. These new ones are tiny, and soft, and I love them.
I made some great dinner last night while talking on the phone with my wonderful friend, Janika! (Thanks for calling!!!!) Then we went to some friends house for Marie Calander pies for dessert.
Now here I am, Monday afternoon. It is 61*!!!!!! Color me happy! Anthony has a dentist appointment at 4. I'm picking up Port of Subs for dinner, and I am going to try to take it easy for the evening, because tomorrow afternoon I won't have time to breathe! Off work at 4, tanning at 4:30, ballet for Kylie at 5:30, Anthony's spring band concert at 7. Sure am glad Jason is off so he can help get everyone where they need to be on time, and save us seats at the concert, while I'm with Kylie at ballet.
I'm preparing chili for dinner tomorrow night, tonight, so it can cook in the crock pot all day tomorrow, and everyone can eat as they are near the pot. The fun has begun!

UGGGG!
I am trying really hard to get a migraine from hell. I have taken 4 migraine pills. Wish me luck. I can't leave work early today. With it being the 1st, I have to get statements out for 3 divisions, and I am off tomorrow, so I have to get more stuff done today than a normal Thursday. Plus, I have a nail fill appointment, and a tanning appointment. At least the nails and tanning are relaxing...
