How can it be?

It's the last day of January. My question is, what happened to it? It just flew by. Before we know it, it'll be June, so I guess I'm ok with it. 142 days to summer.

Everyone is feeling much better. I just have the lingering cough, and I'm tired, but I'm always tired, so I don't think that counts, and a rash I'm sure came from the super high tempurates I had last week, because it kind of looks like a prickly heat rash.

Anthony had a Boy Scout Court of Honor last night. He got 2 merit badges. He has to finish 2 more to get his next rank, and then it's on to Eagle. So far right now, he is the closest to getting there. His dad, and his 2 leaders challenged him to finish the 2 up by the end of February. I think he can do it, since all he has to do is write up a monthly budget and go to a city council meeting.

We are very sad to have heard about the passing of President Hinckley. Our family sure hoped he'd make it to 100. He was an amazing man and prophet. We are going to miss him very much, but we look forward to our next prophet and leader, and know that the church will continue to prosper and grow. Our thoughts and prayers are with President Hinckley's family at this time.

Sickness abounds

I started feeling crummy Tuesday afternoon, but was able to fight it until Wednesday afternoon, when my strength couldn't match the strength of the flu. By Wednesday evening, when I got home from work, my temp was pushing 103*, and I was SICK!

I had to take Rhett and Anthony to scouts, but when that was over, I called my boss to let him know I wouldn't be in on Thursday, and went to bed for 4 days.

My fever finally broke last night. My throat is still a little sore, achyness is about gone, have a barking cough a dog would be proud of.

But I'm back to work...at least physically....

Snow, Snow, Go Away

It started snowing late Sunday, snowed off and on yesterday, and has flurried a bit today. We still have snow on the ground from 3 weeks ago. It's just plain cold and miserable. My computer says it's 28* right now at 1:14 pm. YUCK!!!!

We have so much snow on the ground. More than I ever remember having for so long.

Kids are feeling better, but I think I'm getting sick now. It's always something...

Snow, Snow, Go Away

Don't come again another day.

It started snowing late Sunday (putting down more snow on top of what was still here from the first weekend of the month). It snowed several times through out the day yesterday, it has flaked a bit today, and there is some amount of snow forcasted through the weekend.

The officals say we are 120% of normal for our snow pack, yet we are still in a drought.

Three years ago it snowed HUGE over New Years, and it stuck around for a while, but after that one storm, we didn't get any more. This year, we just seem to keep getting it.

I heard on the news this morning that yesterday was "Blue Monday". It's like the middle of winter, and generally is a dark day, and statisically it is a very depressed day (more suicides, and patients asking for anti-depressants) So it's all down here from here, according to that report.

My dad says he's ready to move to Arizona or back to California. I told him if he goes, I'm moving back in with him.

I think I'm getting sick. Starting to be cold (colder than normal for me) and achy. Yuck!

Kids are feeling better, Anthony never got it, thankfully.

Now, I'm just waiting for it to be time to go home....

Just great!

Rhett is still ill. Feels achy all over, running a high temp still. And he gave it to his sister. I know as a parent I tell my kids over and over again to share. But this is not what I'm referring to.

They have both missed school now. Which just occurred to me, I forgot to call the school this morning to tell them...oops.

Anthony has not gotten it yet. Hopefully he doesn't. He is finished with finals as of today, so if he does get sick, at least he made it through finals. However, he has to have surgery to remove the growth on his face on the 8th next month. Doctor says it won't go away otherwise. More medical expenses...I swear, it's always gotta be something...

Tomorrow Jason and I have the good fortune to go caucus for the idiots that want to be our next president. What fun. I am still undecided, as I feel no one is a good choice. I just have to figure out which one will hurt the least over the next 4 years. I do have to say, though, if Hillary wins, my family is moving to Canada.

Last night, after I got home from Anthony's doctors appointment, Jason already had dinner going, and after dinner, he made a cake. While he did all this, I helped Kylie clean her room.

We still have snow on the ground from the storm 2 weeks ago, and they are saying more on Sunday. Yuck! However, there are only 155 more days to go to summer!!!!

Poor Rhett

Yesterday when I got home from work, Rhett was complaining of a headache. His head felt warm to me, and we went to the store and got him some children's Tylenol, and then this morning he was coughing a lot while I was getting ready. He woke up saying he slept really bad, his head and whole body hurt, his face was flushed, and I felt his forehead, and he was burning up. I took his temp...102.5... Gave him more Tylenol, and called the school to inform them he won't be there today. I think the poor guy has the flu.

Anthony made a bag for Rhett to take to Grandmas with his PSP, and game, and some cough drops. He put all the things in a bag and told Rhett not to open it until he got to grandmas. Kylie got Rhett's camo neck pillow to help his neck feel better, and Jason offered him a warm blanket to take to grandmas. Everyone was worried about him. When we got to Grandmas, Kylie even offered to carry Rhett's bag that Anthony made.

I'm hoping my boss lets me leave early so I can get him from Grandmas and take him to take care of him.

Anthony starts finals today. He only goes to school until 11:50. Only 2 classes of finals per day for the next 3 days. I'm hoping and praying he does well. All his grades are A's and B's and I think 1 C, and I'd like to see him bring that up, and keep the other grades good. I'm sure he'll do fine, he's a pretty good kid in school. His 1 C is in art. I asked how you can get a C in art, but the teacher is pretty tough, and seems to hate this class, most of the kids have C's, even the kid Anthony says is a Senior, is a big wig on the soccer team, and is an amazing artist. Who knows. His GP is still good enough at this time to qualify for the Millennium Scholarship. Keep it up for the next 3 1/2 years...

I figured it out

I think I mentioned that last Wednesday was just really a bad day. All day long I had to keep myself from crying about my mom. It finally came to me late Friday why.

The 9th. Two months since she passed. Now I know to expect the 9th of each month to be hard for me for a while at least. Now Jason knows too, and will be more loving and supportive on those days.

Now I'm fine. I can think about my mom today and smile.

OH! Ran into Thomas at Wal Mart on Saturday. Hi again Thomas! It was really good to see you!

My office

I got everything moved around, and put the second computer on it's own desk, but now I can't get the darn thing to work...UGH!

I guess I'll put it off until Monday, or Tuesday, or maybe even...............next Friday!

Happy weekend all!

Uh oh

The past two days Jason has been fighting a tummy ache, and now I think I'm getting it. Figures, just in time for the weekend.

Jason didn't sleep well last night because he felt like he was going to hurl, and I didn't' sleep well because I was having huge amounts of hot flashes and was super itchy (also a symptom of my shots). Woke up this morning with a killer tight back ache, but I let the shower beat on it, and it feels better.

On a much happier note, the sun is shining, and there is not a cloud in the sky.

Tomorrow, all 5 of us are ripping out the fence at Jason's Grandmas house to make some extra cash. Fun. Just how I want to spend my Saturday. But the fence is just about ready to fall down, so hopefully it won't take too long. Then we get to haul it to the dump.

I have ended up with another computer on my desk that is attached to a scanner for our invoices. So now I have 2 computers taking up space, and it is crazy. My desk is usually a very very neat, organized, clean place, but not the past two days, and I can hardly function...hopefully today I can get it all put back to order so I can function next week. Wish me luck!

It's the SUN!!!

It's shining! I think I've forgotten what the sun is like! We just have snow, snow, snow.

Today would be have been my parents 38th anniversary, and that thought makes me sad. Yesterday was a tough day. Every time I thought about my mom, I'd start to cry. Then Jason, Kylie and I went to Baskin Robins, and there was a mothers day ad there, and I did start crying.

I don't have PMS anymore, but if I were, I think yesterday would have been it. I was either sad or mad all day long.

Anyways, time to get to work.

I should be working...

but, I have 10 minutes left, and I'm tired of working today...

The big news of this new year has been the weather. Thursday, last week, we had bad, bad wind, and Friday it rained HARD all day until about 4:30, when it started to snow, and by 10 pm, there was 6 inches of snow in the front yard. It snowed again on Saturday, but not as hard or as much, Sunday was partly cloudy, today is mostly sunny, but it is currently only 34*. There is another storm coming our way for tomorrow and Wednesday, but it should be rain, which means, we'll probably be flooding, as all the rain will melt all the snow...from one extreme to the other around here. Who knows, maybe next week it'll be super warm (I could only hope.)

Saturday, a burm for an irigation ditch broke in Fernly, and a ton of homes got flooded. The story made the headline on the national news. A bunch of people are out a home and all the things in their homes. Like 400 homes. They blamed the break on rodents and their little holes...I always knew mice were bad news.

We got the quad out to ride, but Jason had to work Saturday night, and Rhett and Kylie got in trouble and I had to punish them to their rooms, so no fun quad rides in the snow this time.

School was on a 2 hour delay today (first day back from the break) because the roads were still bad.

New Years eve we spent at home. We finished the puzzle we started on Christmas Eve. Watched some tv and watched the 20 minute firework show that was downtown off the casinos from our front porch. It was cold, and everyone but Kirby and I bailed and went inside and went to bed. The fireworks were better than the fireworks the area has on the 4th of July. I took some pictures, but, you know how I am at posting pics...

Jason has been working at Cabelas now for a month. We went there Saturday and used him employee discount on some items. New dog beds for the labs, a video game for the kids, some scent free clothing wash for Jason's hunting clothes. Even spouses get the discount, I have my own spouse ID card now.

Saturday morning we were supposed to help clean the church, but no one showed up (due to the snow I'm sure), and the kids had a Primary activity that was postponed to next Saturday. And then church was cancelled yesterday. Which was nice, because starting yesterday, we are back at 9 am church, so I was glad to sleep in. I'm still so tired from my cold and the busy holidays.

The kids were out side almost all day sledding and snowboarding down the front lawn with the neighbor kids from across the street. They had so much fun. They made moguls and were doing all these tricks and stuff. I watched them from the warm living room. Kylie is a walking freckle now...poor kid has my face and skin...

Jason asked the kids to make a list of 5 things they want to do this year, and one of the ones Rhett wants to do is "ear poop coon". What??? It took Jason and I a while and a ton of laughs to figure out the kid wants to eat pop corn. I still laugh even now. Rhett is our silly one...even when he isn't' meaning to be.

Well, I have passed my 10 minutes. Time to go home!!!YAHHHHHHH!!!!!!
