Rhett scores!
Rhett's team lost 2-1 last night, BUT the only run scored for the Orioles was by Mr.Rhett's homerun! Jason made a deal with Rhett that every base hit is worth $1.00 and every homerun is worth $5.00. We didn't think we'd be paying out more than singles, but watching that boy pick up the pace around 2nd and 3rd base, and run across home plate was so awesome and worth every penny and more. Better even (at least for me) than his team mate that got the homerun on Monday. As he came across the plate, I yelled "5 bucks, Rhett! Good Job!" The rest of the parents and grandparents were yelling for him. It was a huge ego boost for him. Jason said as he walked toward the dugout he gave Jason 5 fingers up. And Anthony, who was sitting in the dugout said Rhett was all smiles in the dugout where all the other kids were giving high 5's and knuckles, and all that. Rhett was the 4th homerun of the season according to coach! I guess they're going to do something special for those kids at the end of the season.
Oh, and he played 2 of his friends from church, Jeff and Evan. And it was Evan that allowed the ball to go thru his legs, enabling the ball to roll clear out to the fence, which is considered a homerun in farm league.

Things that make you go hmmmm...
1. Can you cry underwater?

9. If a deaf person has to go to court, it is still called a hearing?
10.Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV?
11. Why do people pay to up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
12. Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway.
13. Why is "bra" singular and "panties" plural?

What a week!!!
Starting on Monday and going thru like NEXT Friday, I will never be home. If I'm never home, why is my house such a mess? I swear there are little knomes or something that come into the house when no one is home and mess everything up, dirty dishes, create loads of dirty laundry, and generate lots of garbage. I managed to rush home yesterday and get the bathroom cleaned before heading out to ballet with Kylie, but by the time I get to the other rooms, the bathroom will be dirty again.
Rhett is doing really good in baseball. They have started winning games, and are playing better together as a team. On Monday, one of his team mates hit a home run. You should have seen the ear to ear grin he was wearing as he came across the plate. It was so awesome to see. I was really happy for the boy (sorry can't remember his name). They ended up winning 13 to 3. Rhett had 2 hits and 2 RBI's.
Jason isn't working security this week and it has been so nice to have him around. Of course, nothing is getting done around the house because we are so busy, but it has been nice to have him home to help get the kids moving and motivated, and he got to go to ballet with Kylie and I last night. I could get use to him being around, but I won't let myself, because starting on the 8th, he'll be out at Wild Island full time for the summer, 6 days a week. They are filling the pools and stuff on the 5th and 6th, and for some reason, once the water gets put in before the park actually opens, they have a real problem with people jumping the fence to skinny dip.
Anthony is going on a field trip to his high school today and then they get to go to Taco Bell for dinner. He's excited. I'm still having problems with the fact that he's old enough to be going to high school next fall. In 4 more years, he'll be gone. It just kills me. Where has all the time gone?
I'm going to lunch with Jason today. Looking forward to that, then I have to run home to do a load of laundry so Rhett's uniform is clean for tonights game.
Gotta run...should be working...

Count Down
Only 29 more days until my 25th birthday and the opening of Wild Island!!!! Too bad the weather is crapy now...it has snowed like every day but Monday that week. I am so sick of snow! Of course, I feel that way in October when we usually get our first snow storm of the season. I just hate snow. Read on the internet that the warmest place is in Florida, and is currently 85* at 7:30 in the morning...

I'm So Lucky...
I get to go to the Social Security office today at lunch. I can't find Anthony's soc. sec. card, and he needs it for his new job. I'm sure that will take up my entire hour. I have the form filled out already, because luckily I was able to print it on line, and I have his birth-cert and his passport. I hope this will be easy. On the web site, it said the new cards arrive in about 10-14 business days, which would put it right about the time he needs the card.
I'm pretty sure I'm the one that misplaced his original card, but when you get a card for a newborn infant, you're not really thinking ahead 14-15 years when that newborn is acutally going to need it. Wow, do I actually have a child that is 14 1/2 and old enough to work? No, it can't be possible, I'm too young!!!!! I guess I was only 10 when he was born, and every year, my age of his birth will go down...pretty soon, he'll be older than me...
Anyways, I'm not looking forward to the office....anything involving the government is a nightmare. But, our taxes were done long ago, so we don't have that to worry about this weekend, like so many people will be.

Yuck and double Yuck!
Woke up to snow this morning. Not much, but enough to make me very grumpy. The morning commute wasn't too bad, I just put my trusty 'burban in 4WD and went slow. As it would figure, our wonderful city street crew was no where to be seen, so nothing was sanded. I think the city puts the snowplow/sand trucks away on March 21 when spring starts, because, being run by a California transplant, they don't realize it can snow any day of the year here in Nevada. Idiots!
We weathered Rhett's baseball game last night in gale force winds. I have a huge sinus infection, and now it's even worse, and the pharmacy was out of the antibotics I was perscribed until today...figures. My head and face are killing me. My sinus are so full that my eyes water constantly. I hope once I get the drugs in me I'll be doing better very quickly.
Rhett's teams lost, but Rhett scored the 2nd of the 2 runs across the plate...even though he's never played before, he's actually one of the better players. His coach keeps putting him at catcher, though, and Rhett hates that position.
Jason has applied again for the UNR police. There are two positions open. Please keep him in your prayers so he'll get hired on this time. I and the kids would really love for him to get hired by the force. It would me more money and less hours. We'd have him around more (well, depending on what shift he got), and we'd be able to buy a bigger home and get some bills paid, and start saving more money. Plus, he'd have a pension, which he doesn't now, so he may actually be able to retire someday... Anyways, prayers again in our behalf would be very much appreciated.
I can't find Anthony's social security card, and he needs it for his new job. Lucky me, I get to go to the office and get a new one. Wish me luck with that!!!

Busy but nice
The weekend was a busy one, but I enjoyed it.
I left work early on Friday and took advantage of the nice warm weather. I opened all the windows in the house and cleaned. Made Anthony mow the lawn. My Dad and sister, Elaine, stopped by, and stayed up late watching The Lake House on HBO.
Saturday, I woke up to go tanning, took Anthony to Roller Kingdom for a birthday party, Rhett to Wal-Mart to get a present for the birthday party he went to in the afternoon, he went to the movies-Meet the Robinsons-and then went back to his friend's house for cake and ice cream. Went to Home Depot with Jason and my father-in-law to get new light fixtures for the front of the house. We are putting in 3 motion lights on corners of the house in hopes of keep our yard and vehicles safer, plus, putting some light along the side of the house where the garbage cans are. Plus, I wanted a new porch light, because I hate the one that came with the house when we bought it 7 years ago...Since Rhett and Anthony were off doing things with friends, Kylie was feeling a little left out, so Jason let her pick lunch (Burger King) and take a nap with us.
In the evening, I let Kylie and Rhett color the easter eggs. I was afraid they'd make a huge mess with the coloring, but they did good, but some of the eggs didn't do so well. At least they were easy to peel on Sunday...
I really hate coloring easter eggs and getting things ready for the easter bunny. This year I didn't even put out all my decorations. I kept wondering why I hate it so much, then it dawned on me. I have had to do all of it by myself for so many years because Jason is always working. It's not fun with out my honey helping out. My poor kids are getting robbed! I'm going to make Jason take the night off next year.
Easter morning was nice. Jason made breakfast and dinner yesterday. It was so nice. He sort of got stuck with dinner though since we're in church from 1-4. While the kids and I were at church, Jason uploaded a ton of cd's to our i-tune libray and added a ton new songs to my i-pod. I'm up to almost 800 songs now. I still have 2 1/2 gigs left...plenty of room for lots of great music.
I was out moving water on the lawn yesterday, and my cell phone rang as I was walking in the door. It was Tracy Lyman! I had left a message on her phone a few weeks ago, and her life was crazy and didn't get a chance to call me back until yesterday. It was SO good to hear from her. She's doing good, living in Sparks, married 13 years, her daughter is almost 16. We're going to get together in the very near future. She says hi to those of you she knew!!!
It's gonna get cold here again. We enjoyed the weekend with fairly nice weather, but it is very windy today, and they are saying snow by Wednesday! Of course, it has to snow on Wednesday, because Rhett has a game!

Happy April
It has been a busy past few days, and I have a cold to boot...I'll fill you in starting on Saturday...
Rhett had Opening Ceremonies for little league. It was cool. They had all the teams walk out on to the field in order from t-ball up to majors, and all the teams were lined up behind the younger kids, so you saw all the similar uniforms in lines. The McQueen High Color Guard presented the flag, and some girl sang the National Anthem (acapella) and just as she was finishing up, the Washoe Co. Sheriff helicopter did a fly over. It was really cool. Then, Kyle Shiloh, UNR basketball star, threw out the opening pitch to an older Oriole kid. We found out why Rhett was drafted to the Oriole farm team. The Orioles are pretty much cop kids and cop coaches. Our sheriff buddy has a kid on one of the older teams, and he was the one that arranged for the fly over, and a bunch of other guys that are either sheriff or RPD have kids on the various age groups. And, come to find out, Rhett's assistant coach is RPD, and knows Jared. Our buddy told us they like to keep all the kids together with kids that have similar lives with dads being cops and all. They drafted Rhett because Jason is trying to become a cop. Maybe this will help him get hired...
Rhett's first game wasn't so great. They lost 11-1, and Rhett struck out both times at bat. He is still so cute though in his uniform. He's a good looking kid anyways.
Sunday I started getting sick, and pretty much slept all day, so I was really glad it was Gen. Conf so I didn't have to go to church. Jason made dinner which was really nice. And he bought me the prettiest Easter Lilly plant that smells so good.
Monday I would liked to have called in sick to work, but I had to get statements out for my 3 divisions, and ended up being very busy because the office manager is on vacation this week, and I did some of her jobs. I went home a bit early and slept all afternoon, and Jason took all the kids to Rhett's game so I could have some peace and quiet. Rhett's team lost again, but the score was better, 2-1.
Tuesday I still felt bad, but again came to work, and manged to get thru the day ok. I went tanning after work, and laying in the bed helped me feel better, I guess from the warmth. Kylie had ballet. A ton of new girls joined the class, so now Kylie looks really good. But she has a lot of room for improvement.
Jason had to work last night, so I got to take Rhett to his game. I was sitting on the bleachers, wondering if I should go sit in the truck or not, and got elected to do the score board. That was an adventure. Not only did I not know how to use the wireless controller I was handed, but I don't understand the rules of baseball very well, and I just don't watch games enough...I am more the social person with everyone in the stands. And it didn't' help that my in-laws all showed up, and I wanted to visit and see my nieces. But anyways, I did ok. And Rhett got 1 hit, and was the first score for his team. They still lost 3-2 though. But, again, Rhett is so good looking in that uniform!
I went shopping after the game. Big mistake. The store was busy, noisy, and I still felt awful. Kids didn't get dinner last night until about 8:30. But all the Easter shopping is done at least.
And that brings me to today. I still feel like crap, and I think I might go home at lunch and crash before kids come home from school. The weather is atleast warming up, so I won't be cold on top of having a cold.
